BRANDING @ BUS-STOP
Bus-stops are popular places for advertisers as many people from every walk of lives use public transports or commute to work will come in contact with at least 1 bus-stop everyday. Multiple advertisements and media types can be seen in such places from static print media to the more dynamic time-based media.
In this project, you are to pick ONE (1) PRODUCT/BRAND or SERVICE produced and developed by A LOCAL COMPANY (MALAYSIA) and to do a background research as to understand the company’s product/brand or service. You cannot change the company’s name or create your own. No two or multiple students can share the same product/brand or service. The product/brand or service can be from various businesses; health-care, cosmetics, food & beverages, communication, IT, automotive, high technologies, travel & leisure, etc.
You are allowed to use pictures and advertising elements from the company’s website about that particular product/brand or service to be used in this project.
The Creative Task:
Each student is provided with a fixed standard bus-stop design of 5m x 2m x 3m. The promotional media should convey the concept and purposes they are meant for. You are not allowed to alter the structure of the bus-stop, e.g. build another storey; add the length, width or height; demolish and alter the building structures; or design your own bus-stop. This means that you can be creative with the existing surfaces as long as within this parameter. The design of bus-stop will be provided later with a template.
Medium
• Internet must be used for research; company’s background, product/brand’s details, photos, info, etc.
• You are to use vector software (Illustrator) with the TEMPLATE provided to create scaled bus-stop model.
• A3 size sketchbook for background research, product/brand’s details, ideation and sketches.
• Some basic tools and materials for model building (scalpel/pen-knife, steel ruler, cutting-mat, glue, spray mount adhesive, model boards)
